While I've become accustomed to the onslaught of green products, this straw cooler really caught my eye. The Reliance Green Glacier water coolers replace traditional insulation with natural straw claiming that the cooler will keep liquid cool for up to 24 hours. While the straw doesn't exactly emanate "cold, refreshing beverage", it definitely makes a decidedly eco-friendly statement. The coolers are still in the development stages and are expected to be available next spring in three sizes: 24-ounce water bottle ($19.99), 2.5-gallon cooler ($39.99) and 5-gallon cooler ($69.99).

Wipro Infotech, the India, Middle East and Africa, IT Business Unit of Wipro Ltd, and a leading provider of IT and business transformation services announced today, that it has been selected by the Government of Rajasthan as the Implementation Agency for enabling the Rajasthan State portal through the implementation of e-Form applications, State Service Delivery Gateway (SSDG) and associated computing infrastructure for Rajasthan State.
According to the agreement, Wipro will design, develop, deploy and manage for a period of three years, the e-Form applications hosted on the state portal for delivering citizen services to the masses. Wipro would also be responsible for deploying and managing the State Service Delivery Gateway for accessing these services through Common Service Centers. In addition, Wipro would be responsible for installation, commissioning and maintenance of the IT infrastructure and training identified users.
The State Portal and the Service Delivery Gateway formulated under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) aim to provide easy and convenient access to Government services (both Informational and Transactional) for the common man. With this, the Rajasthan government would be able to provide a single window interface for accessing all citizen services, anytime and anywhere.
Speaking about the engagement, Vivek Sharma, General Manager and Business Head, Government Vertical, Wipro said, "We are honored to have been chosen by the Rajasthan government for this critical project. Wipro is well positioned to deliver projects of this nature and we look forward to partnering with the Rajasthan government to deliver a successful implementation."
This win is the fourth in a series of wins for Wipro from state governments for implementing SSDG projects. All the contracts were the result of a competitive bidding process involving Indian and multinational service providers.
